Paramount’s Dungeons And Dragons movie is set for release on March 3rd, 2023. While we still haven’t gotten a trailer yet, we now know about a little bit of inspiration for the movie.

While doing an interview for All The Old Knives, Pine had said this about the movie to Collider:

Oh man. Well, what I will say is we had a hell of a fun time making it. There was a lot of laughs. The way that I’ve been describing it, it’s like Game of Thrones mixed with a little Princess Bride, just a smidge of Holy Grail; it’s somewhere in that ballpark. It’s a lot of fun. It’s got a lot of thrills. It’s poppy, it’s eighties heartfelt, there’s a bit of Goonies in there. My character, he’s the ultimate party planner. I think it’s going to be really good. I mean, who fucking knows, but I think we got a good shot and John and John are killer guys. They know comedy and they know heart and we had a great cast and we had a good time making it. And that’s all you can ask for.

More Details About The Dungeons And Dragons Film

Now Chris Pine saying that the movie has influences like the ones listed above is a very good sign. With John Francis Daly and Jonathan Goldstein directing the film, it should be an interesting time.

But it still doesn’t help that we don’t know any details about the movie. With the film releasing in less than a year, Paramount is going to have to release a teaser trailer or even an official trailer soon. The reason is: without any idea where in the D&D Universe this is taking place, it’s going to be hard to gauge where in the world the film will take place.
