After leaving All Elite Wrestling about a month ago, the rumors crept up that Cody Rhodes would go back to WWE. Now, according to PWInsider, Cody Rhodes has officially signed a contract with WWE. According to their report, Rhodes signed his deal about 10-14 days ago. The plan is for him to debut with the company over Wrestlemania weekend and he’ll be part of the Monday Night Raw brand.
WWE has been teasing Rhodes’s arrival on their television, and the match listed for him at Wrestlemania is against Seth Rollins. In the storyline, Rollins doesn’t have a path or “road” to Wrestlemania after losing to Kevin Owens in the main event of Raw. So it seems that Rhodes will make a surprise appearance and have a match with Rollins at the event. The report also states that Rhodes isn’t set to show up before the event.
As with anything, it’s not completely official until WWE announces it or he shows up on their TV, but PWInsider is solid about these types of things. We’ll keep you updated as the story develops.
