As we know, The Hunger Games is getting a prequel that focuses on President Snow. And we know that Lionsgate is making moves in order to deliver President Snow’s untold story in the upcoming film adaptation of The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. And we previously learned that the possible working title is Butterfly.

According to Deadline, the film will follow Coriolanus Snow at the age of 18. The young Coriolanus is handsome, and, if you can believe, charming. Though his family has fallen on hard times, he sees a chance to change his fortunes when chosen to become a mentor for the Tenth Hunger Games. However, his dreams are dashed when he is assigned to mentor the female tribute from the impoverished District 12.

We also know that production is supposed to begin this summer. So, we need someone that’s around the correct age who can pull off empathetic and ruthless. So here are the top 5 casting choices for Coriolanus Snow.

WHO SHOULD BE CAST AS YOUNG PRESIDENT SNOW?

Timothee Chalamet

Chalamet is only 26 years old with the face of an 18-year-old. After his epic performance in Dune, and next portraying a young Willy Wonka, I can see him continuing to pick meaty roles. We know through the rumor mill that he’s already possibly being considered for the role and I think Young Coriolanus Snow would be a great fit.

FINN WOLFHARD

I mean, come on! Finn has made a name for himself in Stranger Things, IT, as well as the blockbuster film, Ghostbusters: Afterlife. We already know this kid has range AND he’s actually 19.

MILES HEIZER

The babyface actor from Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why. We already know he’s a great young actor who is not afraid to get dark. He also showed so much kindness and empathy as Alex that I think he has what it takes to take on a leading role like this.

OWEN JOYNER

I first fell in love with Owen in Julie and the Phantoms. I’m still upset that it wasn’t renewed for season 2. Is an up-and-coming actor who’s mostly known for Nickelodeon shows, and musicals. However, that doesn’t mean he isn’t capable of being more serious if given the chance.

ZACKARY ARTHUR

Okay, yes I know he’s only 15, BUT have you seen him on Chucky?! He plays tormented better than any kid out there right now. Zachary Arthur is stellar! Maybe they can make an age exception.

So, what do you think? Did any of my choices make your list for casting choices of a young President Snow? Comment below and let me know who you think would make a fantastic, young President Snow in the upcoming prequel, Butterfly.
