Marvel Studios Black Widow is ramping up towards it’s release date of May 1st. The film that bridges the storyline gap between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War is almost with us. Starring Scarlett Johansson as the title character, we’re finally going to be getting more about her mysterious backstory. This one will be a first for Marvel Studios though. It’s a side-story to the main plot of The Infinity War. Now that shouldn’t preclude you from seeing the movie however. From the looks of this final trailer, it’s going to be one of the heaviest hitting and action-packed Marvel Studios films in the catalog.

In addition to Johansson, the film also stars: rising star Florence Pugh, David Harbour, Rachel Weisz, and more. If you’ve been avoiding the film up until this point, this trailer is a great way to get back into the swing of the storyline.

How Will Black Widow Change Marvel?

This movie could go a bunch of different ways for Marvel. Knowing them, they won’t take it safe with anything though. I mean look at what they did for the last two Avengers films. It’s not their M.O. to play it safe with these types of films. With that being said, I’m super hyped for this release. The character of Natasha Romanoff has needed a story like this since her debut in the MCU. Her character has bits and pieces that have been dropped by characters like Hawkeye and Bruce Banner, but now is the time for the whole thing to be revealed. This film isn’t going to make or break the gargantuan studio, but it will be a test for whether or not a “smaller” story like this is possible.

I for one am all for it. The huge spectacular event type movies that Marvel Studios makes are fantastic, don’t get me wrong. Black Widow has the potential to start a new era for Marvel though. With smaller stories, they can afford to expand on their universe even more. We all want to see what these characters have been through, so it makes sense to tell those stories to all of us. Black Widow comes out May 1st, so don’t miss it.
