Hello everyone, your friendly neighborhood Professor Hulk, here. I’m about to drop some knowledge of some exciting stuff in the film and TV world. Last week we shared with you details on Silver Sable. This week, we’re talking about Sly Cooper.

We’ve exclusively learned that Sony and Playstation Productions has revived the beloved classic franchise after multiple failed attempts to adapt the raccoon thief.

This Is Not The First Attempt

Originally Playstation and Sony planned to create a movie based on Sly Cooper, and it even got as far as having a trailer.

Sadly the film fell by the wayside and never truly recovered, missing its 2016 release date. A TV series was announced in 2017, but my sources indicate that the project also fell through.

A new studio is developing Sly Cooper as a streaming series, and will reportedly act as an origin story in the first season while delving more into the characters and plot in future seasons.

Sly Cooper started off with the PlayStation 2 and the game Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus. From there, the series went for three more games: Band of Thieves, Honor Among Thieves, and Thieves in Time. The games focus on stealth and thievery. The series hasn’t had a game released since Thieves in Time.

Details On Plot And Animation For Sly Cooper

The series is reportedly going to be a Live-Action/CGI hybrid (ala Sonic The Hedgehog). With Sly and other characters being CGI and other characters being played by actors. It’s unknown if the original voice actors are returning or not.

Aside from the first season acting as an origin story of sorts, it’s said that side characters like Bentley and Murray are also set to appear.

Where Will It Stream?

Currently, there’s no streaming site associated with the project, although Netflix is currently considered the front runner.
