Disney has been working on the lightsaber concept for the past couple of years for its guest experiences. Earlier this year, a promo video showed a Rey Skywalker performer, using this amazing lightsaber. However, as Obi-Wan Kenobi once famously said, “I have a bad feeling about this”. Some bad news guys. It seems guests will not able to use or purchase the realistic lightsaber on the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser. If you want a better idea of how it works click the link here.

Galactic Star Cruiser Lightsaber – Lookie, lookie. No touchy!

Unfortunately, the lightsaber will be strictly used by the performers. However, Disney has detailed an alternative option for gust and this highly anticipated experience.

The session involves using the provided lightsabers to deflect laser beams fired by a wall-mounted training remote. It starts off slow, letting you get a feel for how it works, and then it ramps up to Jedi level where you’re Forced to block attacks without even seeing the lasers. The lightsaber used in this activity feels about on par with a Force FX lightsaber, though it is a tad shorter, but it’s only meant to be used for lightsaber training and won’t be available for sale.

Better Than Nothing?…

Instead, guests will be given a slimmed-down version that is a replica with a high-end fixed blade. It will still act and feel like the real deal lightsaber that is iconic to the Star Wars franchise. Currently, the popular build your own lightsaber at Savi’s workshop is still a merchandise money-making machine. And will still be the closest thing for doing the experience onboard the Galactic Starcruiser.

What do you think?

While I hate being the bearer of bad news, it is doubtful that Disney would reconsider putting this on the market. Let us your thoughts on this disturbance in the force. Leave it down below!
