Being a 911 dispatcher might be one of the most stressful jobs out there. You’re powerless to send help to people unless they either tell you where they are or you can get a position from the call. Either way, in a life or death situation, they’re the lifelines for plenty of people out there. Netflix’s The Guilty stars Jake Gyllenhaal and is directed by Antoine Fuqua. It features a script by Nic Pizzolatto.

The film’s logline goes like this:

The film takes place over the course of a single morning in a 911 dispatch call center. Call operator Joe Baylor (Gyllenhaal) tries to save a caller in grave danger—but he soon discovers that nothing is as it seems, and facing the truth is the only way out.

Here’s the teaser trailer for the film.

Netflix also did a pretty crazy marketing campaign for the new film by hiring a skywriter to put the phone number “507-SAVE-HER” in the skies above Los Angeles and Orange County in California. If you call that number, you might be in for a surprise.

The Guilty releases in select theaters September 24th, and on Netflix on October 1st.

So, what do you think of The Guilty and it’s marketing campaign?
