We’ve all been waiting for the conclusion of the LEGO Star Wars saga. We had a game based on The Force Awakens, but then didn’t get the next two parts. We’re also missing a game based on The Mandalorian, but that might be asking too much. For now, we got the answer to when the game will release at Gamescom’s Opening Night Live presentation. Geoff Keighley gave us the trailer and new release window: Spring 2022. That’s not a super specific date, but it’s at least better than the limbo we were in previously. LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga comes out on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4/5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

The game originally had a release date of October 2020, and then Spring 2021, and is now back in that Spring slot of 2022. The last time we saw anything about the game was August 2020. This new trailer is pretty stunning in the transformation for some of the games. The original LEGO Star Wars came out back in 2005 on the PS2, GameCube, and Xbox. Now we’re getting all nine films of the Skywalker Saga. In addition to that, there’s over 300 characters to play as in the game. So those who love unlocking everything will have plenty to do with this game.

We’ll have to see how the two sections based on The Last Jedi and Rise of Skywalker play like, but this trailer is a fantastic start for the game.
