Clint Eastwood makes his return to the screen with Cry Macho. He directs a screenplay by Nick Schenk and N. Richard Nash. In the film Mike Milo, a retired rodeo star, takes a job to rescue his boss’s young son from Mexico. The pair strike up an unconventional relationship and take the backroads of Mexico all the way back to Texas. Along the way they face an unexpected journey and find connections with the people around them.

It stars Eastwood, Eduardo Minett as the young boy Rafo, Natalia Traven as Marta, Dwight Yoakam as Howard Polk, and it also includes Fernanda Urrejola and Horatio Garcia-Rojas. The film’s title comes from a rooster that Rafo has. So far, the film looks like an interesting one from Eastwood, who’s made some great films over this current section of his career.

The film releases in theaters and streams on HBO Max September 17th, 2021. So, what do you think of Cry Macho?
