Netflix has just announced a new raunchy animated comedy series called Chicago Party Aunt. The new show is created by Chris Witaske, Jon Barinholtz & Katie Rich, and inspired by Chris Witaske’s popular Twitter account of the same name. The first season order will consist of 18 episodes that will be split in 2 parts. The logline for Chicago Party Aunt says that the show is:

a half-hour animated comedy that follows Diane Dunbrowski, AKA The Chicago Party Aunt, as she stays true to her mantra ‘If life gives you lemons, turn that shit into Mike’s Hard Lemonade’.

The show stars the voice talents of Lauren Ash, Rory O’ Malley, RuPaul Charles, Jill Talley, Ike Barinholtz, Jon Barinholtz, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Katie Rich & Chris Witske. Titmouse, who brought us Netflix’s hit animated series Big Mouth, will be taking over animation duties. Ike Barinholtz and Dave Stassen (23/34) will executive produce along with Will Gluck and Richie Schwartz (Olive Bridge Entertainment), and Chris Prynoski, Antonio Canobbio, and Ben Kalina (Titmouse).

CHICAGO PARTY AUNT’S OFFICIAL TWITTER HAD THIS TO SAY:

Big Mouth is one of my favorites in the genre and it’s one of the streaming platform’s biggest animated hits. Titmouse also has a very specific animation style that lends itself well to shows like these. So, if Netflix can find the right blend of heart and raunchy comedy, I think they will have another hit on their hands with Chicago Party Aunt. A trailer will probably be released soon to give us a better idea of the humor we are going to be getting with this show. But, until then, it looks like I will have to check out Chris Witaske’s twitter feed…

Chicago Party Aunt premieres its first eight episodes on Netflix September 17th.

So, what are your thoughts on the show? Do you follow the Chicago Party Aunt on Twitter?
