Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is finally getting a new season later in the year, courtesy of Funimation. In fact, they also have a brand new trailer for us about this:

Hmm, so we are heading to the red light district now? This should be fun.

Funimation officially announces that they will stream the newest season of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba (with Ufotable returning as the animators) when it debuts later in 2021. The announcement also includes confirmation from Funimation that they will stream this latest season, the Entertainment District Arc, in its English-speaking territories. This will include the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.

Unfortunately, that’s all that Funimation has for us today. There is no specific release date for Entertainment District Arc other than just 2021. We are just going to have to wait for more news from Funimation on that front later.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc ~ Details

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc key art.
Looks appropriately…scandalous.

As you can see in the key art above, this latest season of Demon Slayer will have Tanjiro and co. head to a very fancy red light district. Given the setting, I would not be surprised to see oiran courtesans and geisha. In fact, on the big bad’s head in the center of the key art, you can just about make out hairpins in her hair. Oiran specifically wore those hairpins to distinguish themselves from the geisha. It’s not definitive proof that she is an oiran, but it’s pretty telling. It makes me very curious about this new arc, especially with the brief synopsis from Funimation:

Beloved characters Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu and Inosuke will return to Funimation in an exciting, mysterious new mission with the Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui in the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc.

Conclusion

Funimation officially announces that they will stream Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc when it debuts sometime in 2021. Based on the key art, said arc looks like we will see Tanjiro and co. head to a fancy red light district. It really makes me curious as to what will happen next in this awardwinning anime series. Alas, there is no specific release date for this latest season. We will just have to wait for more news from Funimation at a later date.
