The Drive-In will never die.

Joe Bob Briggs

That statement is still true today. After a fitting send-off for season three, The Last Drive-In was confirmed for a fourth season by Shudder today. Joe Bob Briggs had the news on his Twitter.

There’s no release date for Season 4 yet. If you’re not in the know about The Last Drive-In, here’s what goes down on the show.

Horror legend and film critic Joe Bob Briggs hosts a double feature of horror films from any era, any quality. In between the films, he and his assistant Darcy the Mail Girl interview actors, producers, or filmmakers and talk about the films. They first showed up on Shudder in July of 2018 with a 24-hour marathon that was supposed to be a one-off. That show was so successful, that due to popular demand, Joe Bob stepped out of retirement and back into hosting. Shudder brought them back for a weekly series and for holiday specials.

Season Three, like many programs had issues with the pandemic. Joe Bob was forced to “retreat” to a cabin in the woods, and interview guests like Bruce Campbell, Jeffrey Combs, and more over the internet. No matter that challenge, Season Three was arguably the best of the entire program.

Hopefully we get some news about a new season soon, The Mutant Fam needs some more Joe Bob and Darcy in their lives.
