Rejoice, Slime Rancher fans! Because soon, you’ll get to explore an entirely new land in the sequel. It’s even got its own announcement trailer now:

Even just watching this is relaxing.

Monomi Park is proud to announce the development of Slime Rancher 2. This will be the sequel to the original game they released back on August 1, 2017. As you can see in the trailer above, it’ll have the same gameplay mechanics. The only difference is the new (and adorable) slimes, and the new world map called Rainbow Island. Plus, the original pink slime will return for the sequel. What more could you want?

Monomi Park also gave us a release date of 2022 for Slime Rancher 2. Admittedly, this is a pretty vague release date. Not to mention soon, since that’s at most over a year away. However, we don’t know exactly when Monomi Park first started developing the sequel, so they could’ve been working on it for a while. Not only that, but judging from the trailer, the game seems pretty similar to the original. The graphics look better, but otherwise, gameplay and other details seem to be the same as the original game. We’ll just have to see how similar it is to the original when it eventually comes out next year.

Monomi Park officially announces Slime Rancher 2: the sequel to their award-winning game about catching and farming adorable slimes with a brand new trailer. They’ve given us a release date of 2022, and it’ll be available on Steam, Xbox, and Epic Game Store, but nothing any more specific than that. We’ll just have to wait later for more slimy news as this game develops.
