Why do I get the feeling this isn’t your Saturday morning cartoon version of Sailor Moon?

This trailer for Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal: The Movie shows our Sailor Scouts facing off against…a bunch of scantily clad circus girls? Not only that, but this Dead Moon Circus apparently wants to take Earth for themselves by killing everyone and everything on it? Well, I guess they want to be rulers of a giant parking lot. Either way though, it seem Sailor Moon and co. have their work cut out for them in this movie. Again.

The official synopsis for this movie goes as follows:

When a dark power enshrouds earth and a dark circus troupe appears after a total solar eclipse, the scattered Sailor Guardians must reunite to bring light back into the world… ‘Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon’ was originally created by Naoko Takeuchi, the Eternal movie is directed by Chiaki Kon (‘The Way of the Househusband’, ‘Nodame Cantabile: Paris Edition & Finale’), with music by Yasuharu Takanashi (‘Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal’, ‘Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal Season III’), with Kazuko Tadano (‘Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon’, ‘Yu-Gi-Oh!
