With the whole COVID-19 going around, a lot of events had to go virtual. Now, Crunchyroll is the latest to do so.

15 seconds of teasing, but nothing concrete but the date.

Crunchyroll is proud to announce their first ever Virtual Crunchyroll Expo 2021. This completely virtual event will be a digital version of Crunchyroll’s typical yearly flagship convention. The Expo will take place on August 5, 2021; and last until August 7. Best of all, the Expo is entirely free to register here. You don’t have to pay a single cent. You can also find out more about the Expo itself on that website. They’ve also got a Crunchyroll Expo newsletter you can sign up to for more info here.

As a bonus, if you sign up for the Virtual Crunchyroll Expo 2021 by April 30, 2021; you can get some neat extras. You can get Crunchyroll Expo-exclusive backgrounds for desktop PCs, mobile phones, and Zoom. Plus, you also automatically qualify for all giveaways for digital pre-show prize packs to come during the Expo. I’d say that’s a lot of bonuses for a free registration, doesn’t it?

Pretty, but still doesn’t tell us much.

So what’s this Virtual Crunchyroll Expo 2021 all about? Well, apparently, this event will transport fans back to a “New Crunchy City”. The event will feature guest panels, exclusive world premieres, and fun merchandise for all participants. Although they give no specifics, based on what happened in previous expos, you can expect something spectacular.

Maybe not quite this spectacular, but who knows when digital is involved?

Plus, Virtual Crunchyroll Expo 2021 also announces that they’ve opened submissions for fan panels, entries for Crunchyroll-Hime’s Cosplay Cup, and Artists’ Alley. The fan panel submissions close on Friday, June 11, 2021. Crunchyroll-Hime’s Cosplay Cup entries are due on Sunday, June 6, 2021. Finally, submissions for Artists’ Alley are due by Friday, May 7, 2021. Of all of them, the Artists’ Alley submissions have the shortest deadline, so all of you artists out there might want to hurry.

Conclusion

The Virtual Crunchyroll Expo 2021 is now open for free registration. If you’re an anime fan, or if you just want some free goodies, sign up for the expo for free. At the very least, you now have a happy Crunchyroll-Hime to deal with.

A very happy chibi Crunchyroll-Hime.
Possibly chibi-fied to boot.
