Marvel joins the growing number of studios participating in online Comic-Con panels this summer.

The studio announced plans to digitize certain events for Comic-Con@Home. Check out the details below.

Marvel 616 – Thursday, July 23 at 1pm PST

This upcoming anthology docuseries explores Marvel’s legacy of stories, characters, and creators. Each episode is directed by a different filmmaker. Marvel 616 explores the intersection of storytelling, pop culture, and fandom. The virtual panel will feature executive producers Sarah Amos and Jason Sterman alongside directors Gillian Jacobs and Paul Scheer. Angélique Roché will serve as moderator. The event is a joint venture with Disney+, where the series will stream.

Marvel HQ –  Thursday, July 23 at 4pm PST

Described as “the destination for young Marvel fans,” Marvel HQ caters to the kids. The event feature a comics read-along. It also has an epic Lego battle, and a behind-the-scenes look at the animated series, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Maximum Venom. Visit Marvel HQ here.

Marvel Comics: Next Big Thing – Friday, July 24 at 11am PST

Here’s your chance to find out all about the latest and greatest comics from Marvel. Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski moderates a panel of creators across multiple series. Check out the list of participants below:

  • From Empyre: Tom Revoort, Al Ewing, Dan Slott
  • From X-men crossover X of Swords: Jordan White, Tini Howard, Gerry Duggan
  • And from Amazing Spider-man #850: Nick Lowe, Nick Spencer, Mark Bagley

Nick Lowe will also discuss the return of Werewolf by Night with creators Taboo and Ben Jackendoff.

Any Film News?

The short answer? No.

We don’t know yet if Marvel will host any panels for their upcoming superhero film slate. Many of these have had their release dates pushed due to the COVID-19 shutdowns.
