BOOM! Studios recently revealed a preview of JIM HENSON’S THE DARK CRYSTAL: AGE OF RESISTANCE 6. This is the next chapter in a twelve-issue comic book series. It is based on stories from writers from the Netflix series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, Jeffrey Addis and Will Matthews. They are introducing the untold histories of key characters from the show, and it features explosive events tying into the critically acclaimed Netflix production from The Jim Henson Company.
So far the series covered Fara and a young Ordon (Rian’s father). The choices and journey of young Ordon really add to the relationship shown in the Netflix series. One begins to understand the rift between Rian and his father.
In THE DARK CRYSTAL: AGE OF RESISTANCE #6, writer Adam Cesare, artist French Carlomagno, and letterer Jim Campbell present the story of fan favorite Hup the Paladin and a brand-new character Barfinnious. I do not know of anyone not wanting more Hup! The description is as follows:
Podling cook Hup has joined the famous Paladin Barfinnious as a squire and set out from his small village for the first time! It seems that Hup’s dreams of becoming a Paladin himself are finally within reach. When Barfinnious is more focused on making some quick coin than on performing acts of bravery, Hup realizes that his trust may have been misplaced.
Hup the Paladin!
Anything with more Hup has to be good. Here are some preview pages from the upcoming issue Age of Resistance 6, due out some time in February 2020. This issue also marks the half way point of the current story thread. Dark Crystal has stuck to a 12 issue run for all of it titles so far.
Hup’s story arc actually begins in issue #5. Check your local comic store for available back issues or if they can order it for you.
