All Elite Wrestling or AEW, has announced that it will be running a nine-day wrestling extravaganza in January. The event titled, “Bash at the Beach”, might be a bit familiar sounding to wrestling fans. That’s because it’s the title of an old WCW pay-per-view. The events will run for nine days down in Florida and out on the open ocean. Yes, you read that right, the open ocean. Aboard the Norwegian Cruiseliner for Chris Jericho’s Rock ‘N’ Wrestling Rager at Sea.

Starting January 15th, they’ll be filming AEW Dynamite live from the Watsco Center at the University of Miami. Then they’ll move to the open ocean from January 20th-24th around the Bahamas. Dynamite will be taping on January 22nd live from the boat. It’ll be the first broadcast of this level in wrestling history from the open ocean. This will be apart of the previous package for the Jericho Cruise, so if you have tickets for that, you’re in luck, if not, you’ll be watching from the couch like the rest of us. Tickets for the January 15th show go on sale November 22nd only at AEWtix.com.

WWE Owns WCW’s Names Right?

You might be asking yourself that very question while you read this. Well, the quick answer is: WWE doesn’t own the Bash at the Beach name. They had the option to buy it up, but they didn’t. Cody Rhodes is the owner of that name also. In addition to Bash at the Beach Cody also owns the following trademarks:

The American Dream
The American Nightmare
Dusty Rhodes
Battlebowl
Bunkhouse Stampede
The Prince of Wrestling
The Match Beyond

So if you’re mining for ideas that AEW could potentially use, that’s a pretty good indicator. WWE recently brought back the WarGames match that Dusty Rhodes famously invented, but I’m sure AEW can think of their own version or spin on the famous match. Either way, these Bash at the Beach events sound like a whole hell of a lot of fun, and I can’t wait to see what they pull out for them.
