Jesse Eisenberg, who played Columbus, in 2009’s Zombieland had a set of rules for surviving the zombie apocalypse. Unfortunately, for fans there were no rules for surviving the 10 year drought between the first film and its sequel, Zombieland: Double Tap. However, the cure is almost here and until then we finally have our first look at the movie in the way of a trailer.

In case you missed the first movie, Zombieland was a surprise hit both critically and financially.  The post-apocalyptic zombie comedy starred Oscar nominees Woody Harrelson and Abigail Breslin as well as Jesse Eisenberg and Emma Stone.  Eisenberg and Stone have both joined the Oscar club as well now with a nomination and a win respectively. Zombieland: Double Tap trailer quickly shows us our dysfunctional group back together killing zombies again.

Zombieland: Double Tap Trailer

Here is the official synopsis for Zombieland: Double Tap:

A decade after Zombieland became a hit film and a cult classic, the lead cast (Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Abigail Breslin, and Emma Stone) have reunited with director Ruben Fleischer (Venom) and the original writers Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick (Deadpool) for Zombieland 2: Double Tap. In the sequel, written by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick and Dave Callaham, through comic mayhem that stretches from the White House and through the heartland, these four slayers must face off against the many new kinds of zombies that have evolved since the first movie, as well as some new human survivors. But most of all, they have to face the growing pains of their own snarky, makeshift family.

This time out we see our group of Zombieland survivors in Washington DC and moving into the White House. However, some new survivors appear to be met on their journey. Including a ditzy blonde played by Zoey Deutch, a traveling partner for Little Rock (Breslin) in the form of a cute boy played by Avan Jogia and Rosario Dawson to balance out Woody Harrelson’s Tallahassee.

Zombieland: Double Tap arrives in theaters on October 18, 2019.
