Detective Conan: The Million Dollar Signpost is just the latest in the long line of Detective Conan (aka. Case Closed in NA) anime films. In fact, it’s the 27th of those anime films, which are themselves canonical spinoffs of the anime series of the same name, which is in turn the anime adaptation of the manga of the same name by Gosho Aoyama.
Each successive anime film just kept earning more and more at the box office with each theatrical release. While at the same time also earning more and more fans of Conan Edogawa on top of that. Thus, you can understand why this latest anime film getting a second trailer is such a big deal? Don’t believe me? Detective Conan: The Million Dollar Signpost ~ Official Trailer 2 Details
Toho Movie Channel just posted the long-awaited second official trailer for Detective Conan: The Million Dollar Signpost on their YouTube channel. Said trailer shows off some major teasers for the plot of this new anime film. With, of course, Kaito Kid featuring very predominately in this trailer. The trailer even shows off his ambiguous relationship with Conan and his allies, since Kaito Kid is a thief, after all. He’s naturally going to be in conflict with the lawful good Conan. This even shows up in the second version of this trailer, which is basically a much shortened 30-second long version of the trailer above. You can check out that short version below:
Both trailers even tease “Soushi Souai” (Mutual Love) by aiko, which will be the theme song for the anime film. Fortunately, we’ll get to hear the full version of the song when Detective Conan: The Million Dollar Signpost makes its theatrical debut on April 12, 2024. Alas, this debut will be in Japan only for the time being. We have no word on a NA release yet. That will have to come another day.
