This year will mark a very special May 4th for Star Wars fans. Carrie Fisher will officially receive her posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on May 4th, 2023.

Fisher became a cultural icon playing Princess Leia in the original Star Wars trilogy. Her Walk of Fame star will be unveiled near the historic El Capitan Theatre, near the star of her Star Wars co-star Mark Hamill. The spot is also near the star belonging to Fisher’s mother, Debbie Reynolds.

Fisher’s star will mark the 2,754th addition to the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The ceremony will take place on May 4 at 11:30am at 6840 Hollywood Boulevard, near El Capitan. iHeartMedia personality and Walk of Famer Ellen K will emcee the ceremony. Fisher’s daughter Billie Lourd will accept the star on her mother’s behalf. 

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce didn’t confirm any other celebrity guests. However, Fisher was much beloved in the Star Wars community and beyond, so I expect this ceremony will be well-attended.
