Chadwick Boseman may be gone from this world, but Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is proving that his story will live on. Especially since Marvel (and by extension Disney) is trying hard to hype up this sequel without him. Complete with a featurette video teasing what will happen next in the story of Wakanda and its people. In particular, its new aquatic settings for the upcoming conflict. Don’t believe me? Then you can check out said featurette video for yourself below:

Black Panther: The Life and Death of Chadwick Boseman?

Maybe this time, Marvel will even explain more of Wakanda’s science and education programs? So that Vibranium doesn’t come off as magic?

Marvel Entertainment just released this new featurette video promoting Black Panther: Wakanda Forever on YouTube. Said featurette video is a combination of a spoiler-free “Making Of” video and a trailer for this upcoming sequel to Black Panther. It’s also an interesting tribute to Chadwick Boseman, who played the original hero in the first film, and who recently died from colon cancer back in 2020.

You can really tell in this featurette video that Marvel had to rewrite the entire story of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever around Chadwick Boseman’s death. It seems like almost every aspect of this story revolves around it. From the queen crying out her grief at the UN to Shuri wondering if she could fill in his feline boots, it’s pretty clear that T’Challa’s will be the prime focus on this story. As well as how the people around him deal with his death. Honestly, this feels like the sequel could potentially be a better film than the original. Now if only they actually explain Vibranium’s role in Wakanda’s societal and technological development a bit more, then maybe that hope might grow a bit more. I guess we’ll just have to see when this sequel comes out.

Fortunately, that won’t take very long. The end of the featurette video revealed that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will make its debut on November 11, 2022. Interestingly enough, this release date is a theatrical one. So if you want to watch this sequel, then you will have to purchase tickets to your local theater. Or you can wait a couple months after the theatrical release for the film to show up on Disney+. It’s up to you there.
