It appears that one of these days, we’re going to get the sequel to the award-winning Pixar animated film: Inside Out. That is, if these recent rumors bear any fruit.

The Return of Riley And Her Emotions (Plus More)?

If you thought this was a dysfunctional family, wait until you see what the rumors reveal about the new emotions.

Meaww recently released a report saying that Disney has greenlit a sequel to the 2015 Pixar film Inside Out. According to them, this sequel will focus on Riley as a 15-year old teenager, and having to navigate the perils of puberty. Complete with the hormonal haywire producing even more emotions than she already had. How many more emotions, you might ask? Well, Meaww also includes a list of these new emotions (plus some characters that appear to be non-emotion characters based on their names) along with a voice cast for them. Check it out below:

  • Amy Poehler as Joy
  • Phyllis Smith as Sadness
  • Mindy Kaling as Disgust
  • Bill Hader as Fear
  • Lewis Black as Anger
  • Ty Burrell as Sherlock Boredom
  • Adam Katz as Dr. Tranquility
  • Eric Idle as Trust
  • Tony Hale as Pride
  • Kristen Wiig as Lust
  • Alison Brie as Laughter
  • Jonah Hill as Surprise
  • AJ Styles as Joy’s Cousin
  • Rowan Atkinson as Crazy
  • Chris Pratt as Courage
  • Jen Willson as Kindness
  • Will Arnett as Hex
  • Nicolas Cage as Brain
  • Jim Carrey as Vladik

Inside Out 2: A Bit Sus?

Alas, the only unsuspicious thing here is the original trailer.

Admittedly though, this report by Meaww is a bit suspect, even in spite of Inside the Magic doing their own report on it. For one thing, Meaww claims that this Inside Out sequel had a theatrical debut date of June 19, 2022; with the film streaming on Disney+ by the end of the year. As you can tell just by a quick look at Wikipedia, this isn’t even remotely the case. Another thing that’s off here is Jim Carrey being listed as one of the voice cast. Carrey recently announced back in April 2022 that he was retiring from acting after his last role as Dr. Robotnik in Sonic the Hedgehog 2, or at least taking a lengthy break. It’s highly unlikely that he would immediately agree to another film role mere months after that announcement.

With these inaccuracies and questionable information, I am highly suspicious of this Meaww report. Until we get any official confirmation from Disney or Pixar, you all might want to take this news with a grain of salt as well. No matter how much we all want a sequel to Inside Out.
