Well, it seems we finally know when we’re going to see the long-awaited BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War, AKA: the final season of the anime. All thanks to a bloodily and fiery new trailer they recently released for it. Don’t believe me? Then check out the trailer for yourself below:
The Last Season Inbound at Long Last
Viz Media recently released the official trailer for BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War above on YouTube. Said trailer is as bloody and as action-packed as they can make it. I mean seriously, the trailer starts us off by showing us screens full of dead shinigami, with Souls Society in a panic over it. Add in the death of a major minor character via Impaled with Extreme Prejudice to a wall combined with the appearance of the Quincy Stern Ritters, and you’ve got a recipe for some bloody action. Ichigo finally unleashing his long-awaited bankai is just the icing on this cake.
Last but not least, said official trailer also revealed when we’ll finally get to see this final season of the anime. Apparently, BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War will premiere on October 10, 2022. As of this writing, that’s less than a month away, so you won’t have long to wait to see this anime. Unfortunately, there is still no official confirmation as to which streaming service will simulcast it. It’s almost certainly going to be Crunchyroll, considering that the parent company Sony owns everything but Sentai Filmworks. But take even that with a grain of salt until we hear anything official from them.
BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War ~ More Details
That’s not the last of the news for BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War though. According to Oricon (via Crunchyroll), this final season of BLEACH will be split into 4 separate sections. For some background info: a cour is a unit of production of Japanese TV programming consisting of 11-13 episodes. As an example: the recent Spy x Family anime was split into 2 sections, with the first cour consisting of 12 episodes. That means this final season of BLEACH will last anywhere from 44 episodes, up to a maximum of 52.
Considering how long this final arc of BLEACH is, it sounds like more than sufficient length to complete the story. Maybe there will even be some time for the epilogue in the last episode? Well, we can always dream. Either way, it seems we’ll be getting a lot of BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War in the near future, and for a very long time afterward.
