We’ve known for a while the prequel to the hit trilogy The Hunger Games has been looking for the perfect actor to portray a young Coriolanus Snow. It seems The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes has finally found him. And no, it isn’t anyone from our Top 5 choices.

MEET TOM BLYTH

The Ballad of Songbirds and Snake takes place decades before the main Hunger Games saga. This story focuses on a young Coriolanus Snow, who is described as handsome, and charming – if you can believe it. Young Snow is chosen to become a mentor for the Tenth Hunger Games. However, his dreams are dashed when he is assigned the female tribute from District 12.

So, meet our Young Coriolanus Snow, Tom Blyth. Blyth is best known for his role at Billy the Kid in the Epix series of the same name. Donald Sutherland originally portrayed President Snow in the series. And his icy portrayal is a thing of legend. I personally cannot wait to see how Blyth portrays this charming version that turned into the cold monster we know today.

WHAT WE KNOW SO FAR

Along with Blyth’s casting, we know that the film’s possible title is Butterfly. Francis Lawrence, who directed the last 3 Hunger Games films: Catching Fire, Mockingjay Part 1, and Mockingjay Part 2 will return to direct Butterfly. Also returning to the franchise are producers Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson. While Suzanne Collins wrote the book, Michael Lesslie is on board to adapt the story for the screen. Collins will serve as Executive Producer.

At this point in time, no other casting has been announced for the film, however, we hope to hear some rumblings in the near future.
