If you can’t banter with your rival while snowboarding down an icy slope, what’s the point? Sonic the Hedgehog is back, and he’s stirring up trouble (per usual) with Knuckles on his tail in a new clip.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 arrives in April, but you can catch a new look from Paramount below now:
The clip finds Sonic speeding down a snowy hill with Knuckles trailing him.
“I’ve been training my entire life for this,” Knuckles warns as he gears up to hit Sonic.
“And I have no training at all and yet here I am ahead of you!” Sonic responds.
The sequel to the 2020 feature will see the return of Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey), who teams up with Knuckles (Idris Elba) to go after everyone’s favorite blue hedgehog (Ben Schwartz). James Marsden also reprises his role from the original film.
In Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic is eager to prove he has what it takes to be a true hero. His test comes when Dr. Robotnik returns, this time with a new partner, Knuckles, in search for an emerald that has the power to destroy civilizations. Sonic teams up with his own sidekick, Tails (Colleen O’Shaughnessey), and together they embark on a globe-trotting journey to find the emerald before it falls into the wrong hands.
In addition to the clip above, fans can also check out the new video for Kid Cudi’s “Stars in the Sky,” featured in the film.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 premieres in theaters April 8. You can reserve your tickets now.
