Pedro Pascal has been announced as the gunfighter lead in The Mandalorian, the live-action TV series for Disney+. Joining him are Gina Carano, Carl Weathers, Nick Nolte, Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow, and Omid Abtahi. The series will premiere on the streaming service sometime in late 2019. Today, Pedro Pascal shared some Dave Filoni-created concept art for his character.

The sketches look very reminiscent of the original image we have seen of the suit:
Pedro Pascal Reveals Concept Art for The Mandalorian.
These concept art pieces give us a good look at the character. The nice thing, however, is that Filoni shows us the character without giving away any real spoilers. Plus, it’s Dave Filoni. We saw, back at SDCC, some other Filoni artwork related to The Clone Wars. Filoni just has a knack for capturing the essence of his characters.
As of now we still don’t know too much much else about the series. We know the show is taking place between the fall of the Empire and just before the rise of the New Order. We can also tell you, via a Hasthag Show exclusive, that Gamorreans will appear in the show. And we know the show has a fantastic list of directors, some of whom will appear in front of the camera, too. Beyond that….
Getting a look at the concept art for the main character is certainly a bonus. We know what the suit will look like, and it will be exciting to see how the suit will look in the series. 2019 can’t get here fast enough. I’m so looking forward to seeing this new show, and to see Pedro Pascal taking on the lead as well.
The Mandalorian will debut on Disney+ late next year. It will join a Cassian Andor spinoff spy thriller and the last Season of The Clone Wars. It’s going to be a big year for Star Wars TV.
