Happy early Valentine’s Day! Everyone’s romantic obsession – sorry, cat-and-mouse-murderous-thriller obsession – returns for its final season later this month. Now, fans have their first big look at Killing Eve season 4.

“Do you know the fable about the scorpion and the frog?” Eve asks Villanelle. “They both die, because the scorpion can’t change its nature.”

“Maybe you’re the scorpion,” Villanelle responds.

Now, I know Killing Eve is gonna send a ton of unexpected twists our way in the final season. But this trailer surprisingly reveals A LOT about the episodes to come. Eve is doing some kind of investigating, hooking up with a guy helping(?) her, and shooting people in the hand, apparently. Oh, and holding meetings with none other than Helene of the Twelve.

Villanelle, on the other hand, is doing some soul searching via both religion and therapy – a changed woman, despite those people she killed even when she was trying really hard not to.

And of course, these two can’t be kept apart for long. The show isn’t even pretending they’ll be kept separated for dramatic effect. The Killing Eve trailer also includes the pair meeting up in some kind of office space, separated by a giant fishtank.

“If you’d really changed, you wouldn’t have come here,” Eve tells Villanelle.

“If you’d really changed, you wouldn’t have led me,” Villanelle retorts.

The final season of Killing Eve sees Eve (Sandra Oh), Villanelle (Jodie Comer) and Carolyn (Fiona Shaw) in very different places. Following Eve and Villanelle’s exchange on the bridge, Eve is on a revenge mission, while Villanelle has found a brand-new community in an attempt to prove she’s not a “monster.” Having killed Paul, Carolyn goes to extraordinary lengths to continue to chase down The Twelve and the person that ordered Kenny’s hit.

Killing Eve season 4 premieres Sunday, February 27 on BBC America and AMC+. AMC+ subscribers will also be able to stream episodes 2 – 7 of the final season  a week early. (The premiere and series finale will air concurrently.)
