Wes Anderson is bringing some more A-list talent to his next film! Ladies and gentlemen, the amazing and talented Margot Robbie joins Anderson’s cast. Robbie, of course, is now best known as badass villainess Harley Quinn from the DC films. (You can see here in theaters and on HBOMax in The Suicide Squad now.) The Australian actress will be joining Anderson’s untitled film along with Bill Murray, Tilda Swinton, and others.
It remains unclear what Margot Robbie will play in the new film. Whatever it is, we’re sure she’ll put as much into it as she has in her other, iconic roles. She worked with Tarantino on Once Upon A Time In Hollywood and played Tonya Harding in I, Tonya, after all. Shooting for the film begins later in August, in Spain. Not to be outdone with Robbie’s casting, though, Anderson also welcomes Oscar award winning actor, Tom Hanks to the cast, well!
Margot Robbie rides a Hollywood high
The Suicide Squad just recently arrived in theaters and HBO Max from director James Gunn. His new take on the DC property gas received a strong reception versus the prior 2016 version by David Ayer. Thankfully, we can also expect more Harley Quinn in the future; Margot Robbie confirmed that in a recent interview. Currently she is filming Babylon, a noir film taking place in 1920’s Hollywood. Expect the film, also starring Brad Pitt, to release at some point in 2022. Let’s not forget she’ll also play a live-action, Barbie, too. Greta Gerwig will bring this beloved toy to life in the summer of 2023.
It’s nice to see Margot Robbie do something outside of the DC Universe and gravitate towards other, unique projects. Robbie is repped by CAA, Management 360, CAA, Aran Michael Management and Jackoway Austen.
