The sequel comes years after Norman Nordstrom, aka The Blind Man (Stephen Lang), stopped a trio of home invaders with deadly force. Now, Norman lives in quiet solace… until his past sins catch up with him.

Don’t Breathe 2 looks to turn the premise of the original film on its head a bit. In the first movie, Norman takes a defensive position, combating the invaders in his own home. The sequel looks to put him on the offensive, pursuing people who come to kidnap his adoptive daughter Phoenix (Madelyn Grace).

The trailer gives us a taste of the intensity and gruesome deaths we can expect in this movie. From eye-popping to superglue suffocation, it looks like Don’t Breathe 2 will keep us on our toes.

The film comes from writer/producer Fede Alvarez and writer/director Rodo Sayagues. Evil Dead alum Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert also produce.

Don’t Breathe 2 premieres in theaters August 13.
