It looks like Bella Ramsey just landed her next big gig. This time as Ellie from TV adaptation of The Last of Us.

Not a bad choice for Ellie, in my opinion.

Variety recently reported this bit of casting news for the upcoming The Last of Us TV series. It seems that they were quite impressed with Bella Ramsey’s performance in other TV series. Not to mention, she does look the part quite well. Her youthful appearance combined with her personality makes her the perfect choice to play the 15-year old survivor of a fungus zombie apocalypse.

Some of you might think that Bella Ramsey’s name sounds familiar. That’s because she appeared in a recent dark fantasy/political TV series that has become very popular as of late. Yes, that’s right. Ramsey played Lyanna Mormont in Game of Thrones.

Arguably Ellie if she were into medieval politics.

Bella Ramsey also played in another highly popular fantasy series that takes place in a world where everyone has a daemon familiar. Yep, she played a character in His Dark Materials TV series. Albeit, Ramsey only played a minor character named Angelica in that series.

Not much of a change, really. In all the ways that count.

As you can see, Bella Ramsey has had extensive experience playing characters in fantasy worlds, which I suppose, is what you could technically call the zombie apocalypse in The Last of Us. Although, that might be a bit less true than before these days. In any case though, she also has extensive experience playing strong female teen characters, so she’s a pretty good choice to play Ellie.

The Last of the Mandalorian?

Pedro Pasacal himself.
Also the perfect choice to play Joel.

That’s not the only bit of news we have for today about The Last of Us. We also got confirmation that Joel will be played by none other than Pedro Pascal. Seriously, if you’ve never heard of him by now, you’ve been living under a rock for far too long. I’ll give you a hint: the show he comes from stars a very cute Baby Yoda and a very camera-shy Mandalorian.

We all know Grogu is the true star of the show here.

Yes, that’s right. Pedro Pascal played Din Djarin in The Mandalorian. Apparently, the producers of The Last of Us were impressed by his parental skills in that Star Wars series, and now they want him to raise a new kid. Based on his performance with Baby Yoda, I’d be pretty surprised if he failed with Ellie.

Conclusion

Bella Ramsey just got cast to play Ellie in The Last of Us. With her prior experience playing strong female teen characters, she’s almost certain to steal the show. That is, if Pedro Pascal doesn’t steal the show first.
