Xbox Game Pass is a great service for value minded gamers. It’s a pretty low cost for access to all of Microsoft’s first-party games. It also includes games on a Netflix-like rotation. Games get taken off, games get added. For now, Game Pass has added one of the biggest Playstation titles of all-time. Final Fantasy 7 is now on the service. It might not mean much to devout Playstation fans for a game this old to show up. Now this isn’t the remake that hit Playstation 4 earlier this year, it’s a version of the original Playstation version from 1997.
Now I can hear all of your eyes rolling. “Why does this matter?” Well It matters because it means a classic Playstation game is now available to PC and Xbox users for the first time. If you haven’t had the chance to play Final Fantasy 7, go for it. It’s one of the most highly regarded and best RPG’s ever. There are plenty of people who feel like it’s overrated and that Final Fantasy 8 or Final Fantasy IV is better.
Download And Play Final Fantasy 7 While You Can
We don’t know how long this game’s going to be on GamePass. So hit the iron while it’s hot. I have very vivid memories of playing this game back in the late 90’s on my cousin’s Playstation. It was a revelation at the time, and this addition to GamePass makes the preservation of the game that much better. A whole new audience can enjoy the story of Cloud, Sephiroth, and Aeris. Of course for long-time players, you know exactly what that means. A whole new generation gets to experience the horrible twist in the middle of the game.
The Final Fantasy 7 Remake sold incredibly well for the Playstation 4 earlier this year. That game was a timed exclusive for the PS4. We don’t know when it’s going to come to PC or Xbox One. It’s a timed exclusive to PS4 until April 2021. So, what do you think of this news?
