Tron fans have been starved of anything and everything about the Disney franchise since Tron: Legacy. That all changes now though, as we’ve got a first look at Tron: Ares.

Jared Leto took to social media to post the first image from the film and confirm that the film would be releasing in 2025. He said, “ARE YOU READY?? TRON: ARES 2025 See you on the grid…”

The story for the film will focus on Ares, a sentient program that crosses over into the human world. For once, the story of Tron won’t just take place on the grid with programs. The human world, however, is not ready for this crossover, leading to conflict. Jared Leto will play Ares in the film.

The third film in the Tron franchise will be directed by Joaquim Ronning with a script from Jesse Wigutow and produced by Leto, Justin Springer, and Emma Ludbrook. It also stars Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Jodie Turner-Smith, Cameron Monaghan, Sarah Desjardins, and Gillian Anderson.

It should be released in theaters in 2025.
