Sasaki and Peeps Ep. 8 “Suspicions and Sightseeing” continues the amazing story from the previous episode. It’s always amazing when any isekai story explores back and forth travel between the worlds. All because it allows for some of the best of crossover stories to happen. In this case: via Elsa getting to see the sights in modern Japan.
Sasaki and Peeps Ep. 8 “Suspicions and Sightseeing”: Details
Sasaki and Peeps Ep. 8 “Suspicions and Sightseeing” is the eight episode (you can read reviews for Ep. 1, Ep. 2, Ep. 3, Ep. 4, Ep. 5, Ep. 6, and Ep. 7 here) of this first season of this isekai comedy fantasy anime. Said anime is the anime adaptation of the novel series of the same name by Buncololi. SILVER LINK. (Brave Witches, Bofuri, My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!) is the animation studio behind this anime.
Alas, the exact people behind Sasaki and Peeps Ep. 8 “Suspicions and Sightseeing” are just as unknown as in all the previous episodes, save for Ep. 1. However, we do still know that Mirai Minato is the director of Sasaki and Peeps overall. Kousuke Arai, Shun Oorui, Akihiro Narita, Shuka Nishimae, Yukari Kuwayama, Kenichi Tokumura, Hayato Kaneko, and Shunichi Uemura all co-produced this anime. Deko Akao is also the overall writer for this anime. Nippon Columbia collectively composed the music of this anime.
Speaking of music: the opening theme song for Sasaki and Peeps as a whole is “Fly” by Madkid. Meanwhile, “Aimai Girl” (曖昧ガール, “Ambiguous Girl”) by Aguri Ōnishi is the ending theme song.

Sasaki and Peeps Ep. 8 “Suspicions and Sightseeing”: The Good
As was the case for all the previous episodes, the story of Sasaki and Peeps Ep. 8 “Suspicions and Sightseeing” is the best part of it. In fact, as in the episode directly previous this one, the story has kicked up into high gear. It’s so rare that we get an author who’s willing to play around with the isekai genre instead of just defaulting to the popular usage of it to write a harem story. Clearly though, Buncololi is not one of those authors, and we have all the better a story for it.
Sasaki and Peeps Ep. 8 “Suspicions and Sightseeing” in particular reminds me of some of the best crossover stories like Amphibia, Dragons of Wonderhatch, and Enchanted. All of these stories feature a common theme: a meeting of worlds. The best crossover stories explore how different worlds meet, and what happens when they collide. This episode is one of those stories, with Elsa getting to see Sasaki’s modern world of science and technology from the perspective of someone from a medieval fantasy world.
Interestingly, this is not like Gate in which the modern world is depicted as being overwhelmingly (and condescendingly) superior to the isekai world. On the contrary, this episode brings up the possibility that the modern world may be the one in danger if something from the isekai world gets loose there. Foreshadowing, perhaps? We’ll just have to see in future episodes of this anime. Maybe even in a second season if we’re lucky.
Sasaki and Peeps Ep. 8 “Suspicions and Sightseeing”: The Bad
I’ll admit: there’s actually not that much to complain about Sasaki and Peeps Ep. 8 “Suspicions and Sightseeing” this time. Even my usual complaint of inconsistent animation quality seems to be toned down here, as the animation seems to remain consistently…well, if not high, then at least decently good. It seems that SILVER LINK. are at their best when they aren’t animating action-heavy battle scenes. Your mileage may vary, but I’m totally fine with this. I am watching this anime primarily for the well-done isekai, after all.
