Coming off last year’s collaboration, Air, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are teaming up for a new project, Animals.

Per Deadline, the longtime pals will next work on the Netflix thriller, Animals. Affleck will serve as the film’s director and Damon will star in the project that was written by Connor McIntyre, with additional revisions from writer Billy Ray.

Not much is known about the plot of the film but it is said to revolve around a kidnapping. The project is a reunion in many ways across the production as Dani Bernfeld of Artists Equity will produce alongside Affleck and Damon. Artists Equity last worked with the duo on Amazon Studios’ Air, which garnered stellar reviews and grossed $90 million worldwide, becoming one of Amazon’s biggest theatrical hits to date.

Putting the project together came down to making the timing work. Affleck is attached to reprise his role in a sequel to The Accountant; but he also wanted to line up his next directing gig. After landing on Animals, Damon became attached to star and Netflix made it their priority to work around Affleck’s schedule. The actor/director will begin work on Animals first and have enough time to shoot the Accountant sequel later this year.

Affleck and Damon are no strangers to working with each other. The two best friends from Boston broke into the Hollywood scene in a big way with Good Will Hunting, earning them an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.

So, what do you think of this news that Affleck and Damon are working together on Animals?
