WATCH TO WATCH: THEATRE RELEASES

THE BEEKEEPER

The Beekeeper is the new action thriller starring Jason Statham, as a man out for revenge. The film is directed by David Ayer (Suicide Squad, Bright). Our THS review called The Beekeeper a fantastic action movie, reminiscent of the 70s and 80s style action films.

The Beekeeper feels old school and classic, while also looking and sounding like a modern movie. It’s a fantastic action romp from David Ayer that’ll bring you so much joy from watching scammers get blown up, lit up, and screwed up

WATCH TO WATCH: TV & STREAMING RELEASES

ECHO

The latest entry into the MCU, Echo is the first series to release under the new Marvel Spotlight umbrella. Echo is rated TV-MA so it does contain more violence than your typical Disney+ Marvel series. The series follows Maya Lopez, who was first introduced in Hawkeye, as she returns home after her showdown with Kingpin. Our THS review found Echo to be a great addition to the MCU and also praised its representation and partnership with the Choctaw Nation in their portrayal.

Through it all, Echo is a series that should be a welcome addition to the Marvel catalog. It’s a smaller-scale story that people have been clamoring for. While it does have some issues with storyline pacing and a bit too much recap, it’ll still satisfy action fanatics looking for a more mature-feeling Marvel TV show.

What’s it about? Maya Lopez’s ruthless behavior in New York City catches up with her in her hometown; she must face her past, reconnect with her Native American roots, and embrace the meaning of family and community.
