What’s a must-have asset for any spy? There’s any number of answers, but I’m willing to bet your first thought wasn’t “a cat in one of those windowed backpacks.” Welcome to Argylle.

The upcoming reality-bending, globetrotting spy thriller won’t debut until February 2024. But we have a pretty intriguing – if not totally enlightening – preview of the film now. Check out the teaser below.

Here’s the official synopsis from Universal Pictures:

Bryce Dallas Howard (Jurassic World franchise) is Elly Conway, the reclusive author of a series of best-selling espionage novels, whose idea of bliss is a night at home with her computer and her cat, Alfie. But when the plots of Elly’s fictional books—which center on secret agent Argylle and his mission to unravel a global spy syndicate—begin to mirror the covert actions of a real-life spy organization, quiet evenings at home become a thing of the past.

Accompanied by Aiden (Oscar winner Sam Rockwell), a cat-allergic spy, Elly (carrying Alfie in her backpack) races across the world to stay one step ahead of the killers as the line between Elly’s fictional world and her real one begins to blur.

In addition to Howard and Rockwell, the film also stars Henry Cavill, John Cena, Ariana DeBose, Bryan Cranston, Catherine O’Hara, Samuel L. Jackson, Sofia Boutella, and popstar Dua Lipa. Oh, and Alfie is played by real-life cat Chip, who happens to belong to supermodel Claudia Vaughn (née Schiffer).

Argylle comes from director and producer Matthew Vaughn (Kingsman franchise, Kick-Ass). Jason Fuchs (I Still See You) wrote the screenplay.
