Get ready Twilight fans! In an EXCLUSIVE story from The Hollywood Reporter, it seems that the wildly popular Twilight Saga may be getting a Television Reboot.

So, if you’ve ever listened to our podcast, What the Forks?! A Twilight Book Club we talked about this being a huge possibility back in 2020. During the pandemic, there was a huge Twilight Renaissance with the release of Midnight Sun, as well as streaming services fighting over who would have the films next. We even did a whole episode about who could possibly play the characters now – it’s dated, but fun.

what do we know about the TWILIGHT SERIES SO FAR?

So, according to The Hollywood Reporter article, not much. However, according to their source, Twilight will be getting the television reboot treatment at LionsgateTV. Hulu’s Tell Me Lies co-executive producer, Sinead Daily is attached to write the scripts. Their source says Daily is working with Lionsgate TV in order to determine the take they want to go with. Do they want to follow the same characters or different offshoots? Personally, I vote for the Denali clan or a Carlisle prequel! That vampire has had a fascinating life!

According to their source, Stephanie Meyer (author of the Twilight Saga) is attached to help consult on the scripts for whichever direction they decide to go. On top of Meyer, Wyck Godfrey as well as previous Lionsgate Motion Picture Group co-president Erik Feig are both attached to exec produce the television take.

After The Hollywood Reporter broke the news, Variety doubled down confirmation according to their source.

WHY NOW?

The popularity of Television Reboots is high and successful! This Twilight news comes shortly after the announcement from MAX that there will be a Harry Potter series coming to the streaming platform.

The Twilight Saga movie franchise was made up of five films released between 2008 and 2012. The films grossed over $3 billion collectively at the global box office. They also launched the careers of Robert Pattinson (The Batman), Academy Award Nominee Kristen Stewart (Spencer), and Taylor Lautner (Scream Queens).
