Marvel might be changing up their release schedule for a bit on Disney+, but that’s not stopping them from continuing work on Fantastic Four. Marvel’s first family is finally entering the MCU after years away. Industry insider Justin Kroll had this to say about the upcoming tentpole movie for Marvel Studios.
We’ve had plenty of rumors and speculation as to who would play everyone on the team. There have been reports galore about who would or wouldn’t play these four major characters. We had John Krasinski play a variant of Reed Richards in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but it’s not certain that he would be cast for the MCU version of him.
As for the tidbit in the Tweet above, it would make sense that they’d want to find Sue Storm first. She’s the backbone of the Fantastic Four and everything springs out of her. If the film starts shooting in early 2024, they still have plenty of time to find everyone involved. As for the Fantastic Four’s nemesis, Doctor Doom, we also have no news on that front. There were plenty of rumors that he’d be involved with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, but that didn’t materialize.
Matt Shakman is directing Fantastic Four with a script from Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer.
We’ll have to keep an eye on this as it develops. When we get news on any Fantastic Four casting, we’ll let you know.
Fantastic Four is slated for release in theaters on February 14, 2025.
