The Children of the Corn are back. That’s right. One of the staples of the “creepy kids” horror genre returns for a reboot this March.

The film adapts the short story by Stephen King, which originally premiered as a film in 1984. Since then, it expanded into a huge horror franchise with multiple films. This upcoming Children of the Corn will actually be the eleventh feature in the overall series. However, it’s intended as a reboot/reimagining, not a continuation of the previous films.

Check out the trailer for the new installment below.

Here’s the officially synopsis for Children of the Corn:

Possessed by a spirit in a dying cornfield, a twelve-year-old girl in Nebraska recruits the other children in her small town to go on a bloody rampage and kill all the adults and anyone else who opposes her. A bright high schooler who won’t go along with the plan is the town’s only hope of survival.

The movie stars Elena Kampouris (Before I Fall), Kate Moyer (Station Eleven), Callan Mulvey (The Gray Man), and Bruce Spence (The Road Warrior). It comes from writer/director Kurt Wimmer. Wimmer previously wrote and directed reboots of Total Recall and Point Break.

Children of the Corn will premiere in theaters March 3. It will then release on VOD March 21. If you have Shudder, it will also stream on the platform later this year.
