Have you ever looked at Rivendell from The Lord of the Rings and wondered: “Man, I wonder what it would look like as a LEGO set?”? Well, now you don’t have to wonder for much longer. All thanks to The Lego Group themselves, and with it being in the top 10 largest LEGO sets in the world to boot.
Rivendell Feeling the Power of the Brick
The Lego Group is proud to announce their new The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell (10316) LEGO set. It’s part of The Lego Group’s LEGO Icons sets. As you might be able to guess from the complexity of these LEGO sets (as well as the 18+ age rating), these are sets geared towards adults rather than kids. As you can see above, this particular set is a pretty big LEGO set. In fact, this actually made it into the top 10 biggest LEGO sets in existence. It’s actually number 7 on the list, with just 618 less LEGO pieces than the LEGO Star Wars AT-AT set.
In addition to those massive numbers of LEGO pieces though, The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell LEGO set also comes with a cast of 15 Minifigures. You might be able to recognize the vast majority of the cast on sight alone, with a few of them requiring knowledge of some rather in-depth lore of The Lord of the Rings. You can check out the full list of them below:
- Frodo Baggins
- Bilbo Baggins
- Boromir
- Elrond
- Arwen
- Aragorn
- Gimli
- Merriadoc
- Peregrin
- Gandalf the Grey
- Samwise Gamgee
- Legolas
- Gloin
- 2 random nameless elves
The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell LEGO Set ~ Release Details
Unfortunately, this The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell LEGO set isn’t actually quite out yet. It will be soon though. The Lego Group has scheduled its release for March 8, 2023. That’s only a month away as of this writing, so even if you preorder it, you won’t have long to wait before you can finally start building the Rivendell scene of your dreams.
Speaking of which though, the preorder price for The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell LEGO set is a whopping $499.99. Which makes perfect sense for the 7th largest LEGO set in existence, to be honest. So if you want your very own LEGO Rivendell to play with, you’ll have to save up quite a sum. Well, better get saving then, J. R. R. Tolkien fans.
