The laughs and scares continue over on SYFY with more Chucky and Reginald the Vampire. Both just landed renewals – Chucky for season 3, Reginald the Vampire for season 2.
Chucky Season 3
After a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos as a series of horrifying murders begin to expose the town’s hypocrisies and secrets. Iconic murderous doll Chucky scares up a third chapter.
“The cast and crew of ‘Chucky’ would like to thank fans and critics alike for their overwhelming response to season two, which we’re delighted to announce has now spurred the official greenlight on season three. This news has made Chucky very happy. Thank Damballa for that because otherwise Chucky would have been frankly impossible to deal with,” said executive producer Don Mancini. “Many thanks also to our partners at SYFY, USA and UCP for helping us keep Chucky busy. See you in 2023 for what Chucky himself promises will be his scariest season ever.”
Season 2 of Chucky ranked as a top-10 cable in 2022 in the 18-49 demo. Season 3 will premiere this fall.
Reginald the Vampire
In a world populated by beautiful, fit and vain vampires, Reginald (Jacob Batalon) tumbles into it as an unlikely hero who will navigate every kind of obstacle and discovers he has a few unrecognized powers of his own.
“The only thing better than getting the opportunity to make a season of television with SYFY is to get the opportunity to do it again,” said executive producer Harley Peyton. “All of us – cast and crew, writers, producers, and — can hardly wait.”
The series is based on the book series by Johnny B. Truant. Its inaugural season ranked as as cable’s #2 drama in the 10 p.m. Wednesday timeslot in the 18-49 demo.
