We’ve had plenty of announcements today from Shout/Scream Factory about new 4K UHD and Blu-ray releases. Some of them, like Bubba Ho-Tep getting special features on 4K or Dr. Giggles getting a first-time US Blu-ray release is pretty exciting. However, Scream Factory saved some great ones for this string of announcements. Let’s go over all of them.

Dead Silence

Dead Silence might get lost a bit in the stream of The Conjuring sequels and Annabelle, but this was where the masters of horror James Wan and Leigh Whannell started it all.

YOU SCREAM. YOU DIE.

Dare to unlock the deadly curse of Mary Shaw …

From James Wan and Leigh Whannell, the horror masters behind Saw, comes a thriller of relentless terror! Ever since Mary Shaw was hunted down and killed, the small town of Ravens Fair has been haunted by horrific deaths. When a local’s wife is brutally murdered, he returns home to unravel the terrifying legend of Mary Shaw and the reason why when you see her, you should never, ever scream.

There’s also a variation on the standard Collector’s Edition that comes with an exclusive slipcover and 2 posters. You can pre-order Dead Silence on 4K UHD right now! Extras will be announced at a later date. Dead Silence releases on 4K UHD on March 28th, 2023.

The Exorcist III Director’s Cut On 4K

The Exorcist III has one of the most terrifying scenes ever put on film. A jump scare that’ll haunt your nightmares for days to come isn’t the only thing that’s great about this film though. Based on the novel Legion by William Peter Blatty, he steps in the director’s chair for this adaptation.

Experience William Peter Blatty’s original vision of his novel Legion with this director’s cut of The Exorcist III.

For more than fifteen years, Police Lieutenant Kinderman (George C. Scott) has been haunted by the death of his friend Father Damien Karras. Now, on the 15th anniversary of the exorcism that claimed the priest’s life, Kinderman’s world is once again shattered when a boy is found decapitated and savagely crucified. It’s just the beginning of a nightmare series of bizarre religious murders.

When a psychopath claiming to be the infamous Gemini Killer admits responsibility for all the murders, Kinderman is confronted with a horrifying truth that he cannot begin to explain … the man does know intimate details that only the true killer could possibly know. There’s only one problem … the Gemini Killer died in the electric chair fifteen years ago!

The Exorcist III is author/filmmaker William Peter Blatty’s vision of what followed after The Exorcist. Also included in this set is Legion, a Director’s Cut of the film long thought lost.

The Exorcist III on 4K releases on March 28th, 2023. Special features are coming at a later date. You can pre-order this right now from Shout Factory.

Sorry, Wrong Number

Even film noir can be scary at times. It might seem a bit odd to have Sorry, Wrong Number part of the Scream Factory line, but this movie is a stone-cold classic.

Barbara Stanwyck and Burt Lancaster star in one of the greatest and most engrossing film noir thrillers ever put to celluloid.

Young, rich, bedridden Leona Stevenson (Stanwyck) dials a telephone number one night and overhears two men plotting the murder of an unidentified woman. She becomes frantic. Her terror is intensified by mysterious calls from an old college rival and a friend of her father. With time running out, Leona pieces evidence together that leads her to suspect that it is her husband (Lancaster) who wants her murdered. Sorry, Wrong Number is a classic, extraordinary example of cumulative suspense and sheer terror. Barbara Stanwyck received an Oscar® nomination* for her magnificent performance.

Sorry, Wrong Number releases on Blu-ray on March 21st, 2023. The extras are in progress and are coming at a later date. You can pre-order Sorry, Wrong Number right now from Scream Factory!

Razorback

If you like Jaws or Alligator, then you’ll love Razorback. The creature feature sees a monster than can rip a man in half like they’re nothing.

Somewhere in the Australian Outback, there is a creature that can rip a man in half and destroy a house in seconds: Razorback, a giant freak of nature that’s nine-hundred pounds of tusk and muscle which terrorizes an isolated community as violent and primitive as itself. This astonishing debut from director Russell Mulcahy (Highlander) is a ferociously entertaining, adrenaline-pumping thriller that was beautifully shot by Academy Award®-winning* director of photography Dean Semler (The Road Warrior) and imbued with stunning special make-up effects by Bob McCarron (The Matrix). Razorback is an Ozploitation classic that will leave you on the edge of your seat.

Extras are coming soon and you can pre-order Razorback from Scream Factory right now!
