The Return Of Swamp Thing turns 35 years old in 2023 and to celebrate the occasion Lightyear Entertainment is putting out an extras laden 4K UHD Blu-ray. This sequel to the original cult-classic 1982 Wes Craven film has a brand new transfer from the original interpositive.

The Return Of Swamp Thing releases on 4K UHD from Lightyear on February 7th, 2023.

In The Return Of Swamp Thing, Swampy falls for Abigail Arcane (played by Heather Locklear), stepdaughter to the world’s maddest scientist, Dr. Anton Arcane (played by Louis Jourdan). Abby owns a plant store, and is more comfortable talking to her plants than to men in the local singles bar. However, when she meets the half-human/half-plant, she immediately sees beyond the horror of his physical form and falls in love with Dr. Alec Holland, the man behind the muck, who also happens to be busy saving her from her father’s nefarious and murderous plans.

It also stars Sarah Douglas and Dick Durock, and Jim Wynorski directs the film. Carl Fullerton did all the mutant creatures and Swamp Thing’s elaborate costume in the film.

As for new special features, Lightyear has a Reflections on Swamp Thing 35 Years Later interview with producer Michael E. Uslan and the RiffTrax music video for Your Ever-Lovin’ Swamp Thing by The RiffTones.

Lightyear will also be releasing the RiffTrax digital single and music video for Your Ever-Lovin’ Swamp Thing worldwide on Lightyear Records through Virgin/UMG. This single will be released on February 10th, 2023.
