Well, it seems as though the creators of Mob Psycho 100 III really want to hype up the upcoming anime. Why else would they start showing up PV trailers for different characters? Starting with Teruki Hanazawa (AKA: Teru) no less. Don’t believe me? Then check his very own PV trailer below, and recall his epic baldness for yourself:

Every Teru Has His Day

Ah, the 4 life stages of Teru.

Warner Bros. Japan Anime just posted that character PV trailer for Teruki “Teru” Hanazawa from Mob Psycho 100 on YouTube, explicitly as part of a promotion for the upcoming third season. Said character PV trailer basically gives us a look back on Teru’s character arc. The trailer starts with his first meeting with Shigeo Kageyama (AKA: the titular Mob), where he basically gets a beatdown from Mob. Physically, mentally, and cuticley; no less. We then see him at the overcompensating stage with his absurd tower of hair, before it finally calms back down to a new normal as he settles down into a friendship with Mob.

The real fun though starts in the last few seconds of this character PV trailer. Teru asks Mob: “Kageyama-kun, do you remember that time we first met?”. It seems to be foreshadowing something for Mob Psycho 100 III. They leave it more than a bit vague though. Don’t want to go around spoiling anything for season 3, after all. I presume we’ll find out what that’s about when this third season premieres on October 5, 2022 on Crunchyroll. Or maybe even when they drop a new character PV trailer? Tune back into THS to see that next PV trailer when we do.

Mob Psycho 100: Details

"Mob Psycho 100 III" key visual.
I get the feeling there are multiple layers of foreshadowing in this key visual.

Mob Psycho 100 III is the upcoming third season of the anime, which is itself the anime adaptation of the supernatural action comedy manga of the same name by ONE (One-Punch Man). Bones (Fullmetal Alchemist, Bungo Stray Dogs, My Hero Academia) remains the animation studio behind this anime. Takahiro Hasui is the director for this season, with original director Yuzuru Tachikawa serving as chief director. All of the other main staff and voice cast will reprise their roles from previous seasons. Lastly, Crunchyroll will be licensing this third season of the anime for NA streaming, with Funimation licensing it for home video release.

As for what Mob Psycho 100 III is about? Unfortunately, we don’t have an official synopsis for season 3 specifically. However, we do have an official synopsis for the anime as a whole from Crunchyroll. Check it out below:

“Kageyama Shigeo, a.k.a. “Mob,” is a boy who has trouble expressing himself, but who happens to be a powerful esper. Mob is determined to live a normal life and keeps his ESP suppressed, but when his emotions surge to a level of 100%, something terrible happens to him! As he’s surrounded by false espers, evil spirits, and mysterious organizations, what will Mob think? What choices will he make? The anime based on the original story by ONE, the idol of the webcomic world and creator of One-Punch Man, is coming your way with animation by leading animation studio Bones!”

You can catch up on all previous seasons of Mob Psycho 100 on Crunchyroll or Funimation.
