It seems like we’re getting another great romcom anime in the form of More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers. Best of all, they’ve just dropped their first trailer. You can check it out below:
The Next Nisekoi?
KADOKAWAanime just dropped this first PV trailer for More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers on YouTube. Said PV trailer shows us some adorable scenes between Jirou (the male lead) and Akari (the female lead), who also happens to subscribe to the gyaru fashion culture. It’s hard to tell if they’re getting along at first, but as the PV trailer goes on, it becomes pretty clear that they are either becoming a couple or already are. Especially with Akari’s playfully aggressive attitude towards life. Really, the only thing this PV trailer is missing is their voices to complete the scenes.
This PV trailer even gives us a release window for the anime. Apparently, More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers will premiere sometime in October 2022. Presumably, the release window will narrow down when we get closer to the actual date. Unfortunately, we also have no idea which anime streaming service will pick up this anime. More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers: Details
More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers is the upcoming anime adaptation of the romantic comedy manga of the same name by Yūki Kanamaru. Studio Mother will be the animation studio behind the anime. Takao Kato (To Love Ru) and Junichi Yamamoto (Armor Shop for Ladies & Gentlemen) will direct it, with Chizuru Kobayashi (Lagrange: The Flower of Rin-ne) as character designer, Naruhisa Arakawa (Blue Seed, Kamen Rider Kuuga, Spice, and Wolf) writing.
As for the voice cast of More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers, we have a short list below:

“Its story is set in Seisun Academy, a high school where students are forced to live as a pseudo couple as a part of a curriculum. Jiro Yakuin is paired with Akari Watanabe, who is the complete opposite of him, in the traditional “marital training” class. At the suggestion of Akari, they start living as a pseudo couple in order to get the right to exchange pairs, which is given to the top performers. They practice various activities such as the first kiss in order to earn points, but as they come to understand each other’s personalities and thoughts, they unintentionally become closer and come to like each other.”
