It seems that Date A Live season 4 is about to conclude with the Kurumi arc. To hype it up, it seems that there’s a new PV trailer and key art for it. Check it out below:

Kurumi, Tokisaki, Dock

Is it still heterochromia if one of her eyes is a literal clock?

Date A Live is proud to showcase the final part of season 4, which features Kurumi Tokisaki as the main girl for Shido to add to his harem. The PV trailer on YouTube above shows off Kurumi’s powers and arsenal, including the ability to apparently clone herself and her use of what looks like magical flintlock firearms. Honestly, to me, it seems like she has full control of her magic, and has no practical need to relinquish it. When she kills someone, she knows perfectly well what she’s doing. I guess she still needs to give up her powers for Shido to take though for plot reasons, I guess.

The PV trailer itself doesn’t give a release date for Date A Live season 4. That’s because as of this writing, it’s already on Crunchyroll. If you want to watch the Kurumi arc, all you have to do is wait a few weeks for these last few episodes to simulcast. Oh, and to shell out cash for a premium account if you haven’t already done so. This anime is part of the Spring 2022 anime season, so of course, Crunchyroll has locked it behind a paywall like all the anime for this season. There’s not even a seasonal sampler for this anime, so if you want to watch any of it, you need money.

Date A Live Season 4: Details

"Date A Live season 4" Kurumi key art.
If only her arc doesn’t end in her playing into a sexist and misogynist plotline, but I digress.

Date A Live season 4 is the 4th season of the anime adaptation of the light novel of the same name by Kōshi Tachibana. Geek Toys (RErideD: Derrida, who leaps through time, Plunderer, Fantasia Sango – Realm of Legends) is the animation studio behind this season of the anime. Jun Nakagawa directs this season of the anime, with Fumihiko Shimo working as the writer. Go Sakabe composes the music.

As for what Date A Live in general is about? Well, Crunchyroll has an official synopsis for the anime. You can check out how sexist/misogynistic for yourself below:

“Ordinary high school boy Shido discovers a mysterious girl at ground zero of a recent spacequake. Shido learns, through his sister Kotori, that the girl is one of the Spirits: mystical creatures responsible for the spacequakes. Shido is recruited to help “seal” the sprits and end their threat to mankind. There’s just one catch: the only way to seal a spirit—is to make her fall in love with you.”
