Well, it seems like The Orville will be getting its third season in the form of The Orville: New Horizons. The only different this time is that it’s not on Fox. Well, to be fair, it kind of is, and it kind of isn’t. Just check out the trailer for it below, and see for yourself:

Seth Mac-I Mean, Ed Mercer is at It Again

It’s too bad there still seems to be a limit on chairs in Not-Starfleet bridges. Either that, or some of those officers aren’t using the available chairs for some reason.

Hulu is proud to announce The Orville: New Horizons with the trailer above on YouTube. As you might’ve noticed, this third season of this hit Star Trek almost-parody comedy-drama show will no longer be on Fox, but will instead be a Hulu exclusive. I mean, seriously, Ed Mercer pulled out a Star Wars line with that “May the Force be with you” in his speech. I’m pretty sure Disney wouldn’t have allowed that without the show is exclusive only to them, but I digress.

The trailer reveals that The Orville: New Horizon will premiere only on Hulu on June 2, 2022. Hulu is, as you might imagine from Disney, not a free streaming service. If you want to watch this sci-fi show and see Seth MacFarlane in action, then you’ll have to cough up some cash for a Hulu account. Hulu is not that expensive compared to, say, Netflix; but that $6.99 per month can still add up to a lot for you.

I can’t tell if this parody is taking itself seriously or not.

The Orville: New Horizons is the third season of The Orville TV series by Seth MacFarlane, who also stars as the main character Captain Ed Mercer with a bunch of other cast including Adrianne Palicki as Commander Kelly Grayson, Penny Johnson Jerald as Doctor Claire Finn, and Scott Grimes as Lieutenant Gordon Malley. Fuzzy Door Productions and 20th Television (formerly 20th Century Fox Television) remain the production companies behind this Star Trek parody/homage show, even after Disney acquired them.

As for what The Orville, in general, is about? Well, Hulu has an official synopsis for us on their site. Check it out below:

“From Emmy Award-winning executive producer and creator Seth MacFarlane, THE ORVILLE is a live-action, one-hour space adventure series set 400 years in the future that follows The Orville, a mid-level exploratory spaceship. Its crew, both human and alien, face the wonders and dangers of outer space, while also dealing with the familiar, often humorous problems of everyday life.”
