How do you know when an award-winning video game-like OPUS: Echo of Starsong has become a hit? When it gets a console version, of course. Specifically in this case: a Nintendo Switch version called the Full Bloom Edition. Don’t believe me? Myria Everlasting, then check out the launch trailer for yourself below, and I do mean “launch” in all senses of the word:

The Lumen Flowers are Always in Full Bloom on the Switch

I wonder if the voice work extends to the entire game in this edition? I hope it does.

Nintendo is officially announcing the release of OPUS: Echo of Starsong – Full Bloom Edition on May 11, 2022 with the launch trailer above on YouTube. The trailer itself is actually rather spectacular. It shows off some of the more epic moments of the game, while also showing off the puzzle and exploration gameplay elements, and even introduces us to most of the main cast of the game without spoiling anything.

Even better, veterans of the original OPUS: Echo of Starsong on PC via Steam will notice this: there’s voice acting. You actually get to hear everyone’s voices for the first time, especially Jun’s and Eda’s voices. The voices are all in Japanese, but that adds to the experience since the setting of the game is very distinctly Asian. Note that the original game did not have any voicework whatsoever, so this is a very exciting improvement over the original game. I sincerely hope that the voice acting gets added to the original PC version for all of us who own it. Fingers crossed for all us PC gaming fans.

Interested in experiencing OPUS: Echo of Starsong – Full Bloom Edition for yourself? Then if you own a Nintendo Switch, you can download the game directly from the Nintendo online store. The game has a retail price of $24.99, which is $7 more expensive than the original version on Steam. I think you’re basically paying extra for the voice acting here. This is just my opinion though: I think it’s worth it given the game’s quality.

Asteroids emitting a sound known as “Starsongs” have become the center of conflict for the immense power they hold. Determined to claim asteroids of his own, a young man ventures out with a girl who can imitate starsongs, lending her voice to unravel an ancient myth deep in the heart of space.

“I will claim the starsongs, and bring honor to the clan.”
