As many already know DC and Warner Bros have been working on Blue Beetle for a while. Starring Xolo Maridueña (Cobra Kai, Parenthood) as Jaime Reyes, Blue Beetle was originally planned as an HBO Max series but then switched over to a full-length film. What has been really interesting about this film is the lack of information that has come out. Last year we did exclusively report about Bianca and Milagro Reyes casting news and some plot details. Well, thanks to an exclusive report by The Illuminerdi, we possibly now know who the main villain will be… Lady Styx.

Lady Styx Will Be The Main Villain in Blue Beetle

Like I say with every rumor watch, please take what you read next with a grain of salt. There has been no official announcement on Lady Styx being in Blue Beetle. But The Illuminerdi is reporting that Lady Styx will be the main villain in the upcoming Blue Beetle film. The Illuminerdi has heard whispers that Lady Styx might be the main villain of the upcoming Blue Beetle movie starring Xolo Maridueña.

“A Blue Beetle movie was originally announced to be in development back in 2018 with a script being written by Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer. By 2021, Angel Manuel Soto was attached to direct and Maridueña was signed on to star as Jaime Reyes /Blue Beetle. The film was originally slated to be an HBO Max original, however, it has since been changed to a theatrical release.

Now, we have learned a little more about the film’s villain who is rumored to be Lady Styx. The studio is currently looking to cast a woman in the 50 to 60-year-old range with casting expected to commence soon.”

As of now, there are no other details to go with this and is still a developing story. But make sure to follow That Hashtag Show for Blue Beetle updates.
